Faith is a footstool

Sometimes life has mysteries we can't fathom. The actions of God perplex us. The Word of God gives no sure answer. It is at these times God expects us to believe, just believe. What do we do to do the works of God? Believe!

From a letter by Spurgeon two months before he dies:

We no longer ask — How can these things be? We make inscrutable mysteries into footstools for faith to kneel upon.

C. H. SPURGEON.
