Sometimes life has mysteries we can't fathom. The actions of God perplex us. The Word of God gives no sure answer. It is at these times God expects us to believe, just believe. What do we do to do the works of God? Believe!
From a letter by Spurgeon two months before he dies:
We no longer ask — How can these things be? We make inscrutable mysteries into footstools for faith to kneel upon.

Seven Character Traits of a Disciple
In studying more in John, and looking at what a disciple is, I have now reached the Seven Character Traits I believe should describe a "Disciple". "Seven" in the Bible means "fullness"? I think this might be what brings the fullness of being a disciple:
1. Follower (Matt 4:19, 8:22, 9:9, 16:24)
2. Learner
3. Apprentice
4. Questioner
5. Quickened to Life (John 6:68)
6. Must abide in His Word (John 8:31)
7. Bear Fruit (John 15:8)
This list might change over time, as I learn more and get more revelation, but I like it now. It says it all. Only those who have these qualities and are increasing can be disciples truly. Then, many of these don't depend on us, they depend on the Lord, such as being quickened. That is something He does, not us.
Hope this makes sense. I see fewer and fewer disciples in the church today. Things are changing. People are believing many things that take them away from the Lord.
